Award Amount:  $6,000 for the Visual Arts Award or the potential for smaller Promise Awards.
Applications open January 15th, 2014
Deadline:  February 28th, 2014, 5 PM PT

  • $10 application fee
  • Must have a child under the age of 18.
  • Their purpose is to reward excellence and is based on your portfolio and your future plans and how this award will aid you in attaining your goals.
  • Standard application is available online and requires three parts of following:
    –  Contact information
    –  Personal information:  a chance to tell who you are as a person, parent as an artist
    –  Who I am:  bio
    –  What I do:  artist statement
    –  What I’ve Done:  CV
    –  What I’d like to do:  how the award will be used
    –  Portfolio:
    –  10-20 images at the highest resolution available
    –  Provide titles, mediums, and dates the works were created
    –  If the work was exhibited, please note where and when it was.
  • Awards announced on November 1st, 2013.

Craft Emergency Relief Fund

Craft Emergency Relief Fund

RAPID RELIEF EMERGENCY GRANT:

  • Aid amount could potentially be up to $5,000.
  • This grant is specifically for craft artists (woodworkers, fiber artists, metalsmith, glass artists, potters, and furniture makers) going through career-threatening emergencies.

CAREER RECOVERY LOAN:

  • Provides zero interest loans to craft artists to re-establish, improve or expand your work capacity after an emergency.
  • Loan amount can be up to $8,500.
  • There is no interest and the loan must be repaid within five years in monthly installments.
  • Application is the through the same online platform or in print as above.

You may request both an emergency grant and a career recovery loan.

Artists’ Fellowship, Inc.

Artists’ Fellowship, Inc.

  • Provides aid for artists in the event of an emergency. An emergency usually involves health-related issues, accidents, financial crises or bereavement.
  • Must fill out this application and include:
    –  Signed copy of household’s most current IRS tax returns and Schedule C
    –  A letter detailing the reasons of financial assistance
    –  Copies of official documents supporting amount required (doctor / hospital bills)
    –  Resume, exhibition brochures, gallery affiliation and copies of published reviews of your work.
