The Helen Trueheart Cox Art Scholarship for the Native American via NLAPW
Award Amount: $500 / $1,000
Application deadline: October 31st, 2015

  • Two grant types
    • Carroll Grant – $500 for individuals residing in the mid-atlantic states.
    • National grant – $1,000
  • Specifically for females ages 18 through 25, and a member of a Native American tribe.
  • Grants are awarded every two (2) years for scholarships in art.
  • Each is given to a Native American female lacking financial resources to further her education.  Funds must be used towards courses at an accredited college, university or trade school.
  • Requires an entry fee of $20.00 payable by check or money order to NLAPW, Inc. Please note Native American Girl National or Mid-Atlantic, as appropriate, on the memo line.
  • Medium requirements include any or all media including oil, acrylic, watercolor, original works on paper, or sculpture.
  • Include a SASE (self addressed envelope) for a list of winners, and sufficient postage for returned materials.
  • To apply:
    • Painting / printmaking / sculpture:  submit three (3) 4″ x 6″ color prints (no slides) of your work.
    • Photography:  submit three (3) 8″x10″ prints.
    • All work must be completed and created in full by the artist.
